Digital Wallet Engineering
Engineering of self-custody and embedded wallets, covering key management, transaction signing, account abstraction and multi-chain support across mobile, web and extensions.
Overview
A wallet is a security product that happens to look like a consumer app. It must protect keys on devices it does not control, explain transactions in language people understand, and recover gracefully when users lose phones or forget passwords.
We engineer wallets that take both halves of that job seriously: hardware-backed and MPC-based key management on one side, clear signing flows and account abstraction on the other. The same discipline applies across iOS, Android, web and browser extensions, and to every chain the wallet supports.
Business applications
- 01
Self-custody mobile wallets
Native iOS and Android wallets that generate and store keys in the Secure Enclave or Android Keystore, require biometric authorisation, and protect recovery material with encrypted backup flows the user controls.
- 02
Embedded and smart account wallets
Wallets built into a product's existing sign-in experience, using ERC-4337 smart accounts, passkeys and paymasters so users can transact without seed phrases or holding native gas tokens.
- 03
Institutional key management integration
Integration of MPC and multisig platforms such as Fireblocks or Safe into internal tools, with policy engines enforcing approval quorums, address allowlists and transaction limits defined by the client.
- 04
Multi-chain asset views
A single interface that reads balances, NFTs and transaction history across EVM chains and Solana, resolves names through ENS, and decodes contract calls into plain-language summaries before signing.
Engineering approach
- 01
Custody model decision
We clarify who controls keys, whether the user, the client, a third-party custodian or a combination, because that choice drives architecture, regulatory exposure and recovery design.
- 02
Key lifecycle design
Generation, storage, backup, rotation and recovery are specified end to end, using hardware-backed storage, MPC or smart account guardians as the chosen custody model requires.
- 03
Transaction safety
Transaction simulation, EIP-712 typed data display, contract call decoding and known-malicious address checks are built in, so users see what a signature will actually do.
- 04
Client and chain build
Wallet clients are built in Swift, Kotlin, React Native or TypeScript, with chain adapters isolated behind a common interface so new networks can be added without core rewrites.
- 05
Security testing and release
Penetration testing, dependency review and tamper-resistance checks precede staged releases through app store and extension review, followed by crash and anomaly monitoring after launch.

Questions leaders ask
Is a self-custody wallet subject to licensing?
Treatment varies by jurisdiction and by how the product works, particularly whether the provider can access or move user assets. That is a question for your legal counsel. We document the custody model precisely so your advisers can assess it, and we engineer to whichever model you choose.
Can users recover a wallet without a seed phrase?
Yes, with trade-offs. Options include MPC share recovery, smart account social recovery with guardians, and passkey-based backup. Each changes who can assist with recovery and what an attacker would need to succeed. We walk through those trade-offs before you commit to one.
How do you protect users from malicious transactions?
Through layered controls: simulation before signing, decoding of contract calls into plain language, warnings for known malicious addresses and unlimited token approvals, and EIP-712 structured data so users see meaningful fields instead of opaque hexadecimal strings.
