Enterprise Software Engineering

SaaS Product Engineering

End-to-end engineering for software sold as a service, from first release through subscription billing, onboarding, product analytics and growth in scale.

Overview

Building a SaaS product means building two systems at once: the product customers pay for, and the machinery that lets a business sell, provision, bill, support and improve it continuously. Teams that focus only on the first often discover the second through outages, billing disputes and slow onboarding.

We engineer both. Product capabilities are delivered in small, measurable increments, while self-service signup, plans and entitlements, usage metering, billing integration and product telemetry are designed as core architecture. The goal is a product your team can ship to frequently, price flexibly and operate with confidence as adoption grows.

Business applications

  1. 01

    New product launches

Taking a validated concept to a production-ready first release with authentication, onboarding, core workflows, billing and analytics in place, so early customers experience a complete product rather than a prototype.

  2. 02

    Productizing internal software

Turning a tool built for one organization into a commercial offering by adding configurability, tenant isolation, self-service administration and the operational practices that external customers expect.

  3. 03

    Monetization and packaging changes

Introducing usage-based pricing, tiered plans, add-ons or trials by building a clean entitlements model and integrating metering with billing platforms such as Stripe Billing or Chargebee.

  4. 04

    Scaling an established product

Addressing performance bottlenecks, release friction and architectural limits in a product that has outgrown its original design, while keeping the roadmap moving for existing customers.

Engineering approach

  1. 01

    Product and platform framing

We separate product capabilities from platform capabilities such as identity, tenancy, billing, notifications and auditing, then agree which belong in the first release and which can follow.

  2. 02

    Foundations first

Authentication, organizations and roles, entitlements, feature flags and event tracking are built early, because retrofitting them into a live product is costly and disruptive for customers.

  3. 03

    Continuous product delivery

Features ship through trunk-based development, preview environments and progressive rollouts, with analytics instrumented alongside each feature so its adoption can be measured from day one.

  4. 04

    Operability and trust

We define service level objectives, add tracing and alerting, and implement the security controls and documentation that enterprise buyers examine during procurement and due diligence.

  5. 05

    Iterate on evidence

Usage data, support signals and customer interviews feed a shared backlog, and experiments run behind flags so the team learns quickly without destabilizing the product.

Questions leaders ask

How is SaaS product engineering different from multi-tenant platform work?

SaaS product engineering covers the whole product: features, onboarding, billing, analytics and release practice. Multi-tenant platform work focuses on the underlying architecture that isolates and serves many customers efficiently. Most products need both, and we scope engagements according to which layer carries the most risk at your current stage.

Can you help us prepare for enterprise customers and security reviews?

Yes. We build the technical controls enterprise buyers usually ask about, including single sign-on through SAML or OIDC, SCIM provisioning, audit logs, encryption and access reviews, and help assemble the architecture and security documentation used in questionnaires. Formal attestations such as a SOC 2 report come from independent auditors, not from us.

Do you work alongside our in-house product team?

That is the most common arrangement. Your product managers own priorities and customer relationships, while we contribute engineering capacity, architecture leadership and delivery practices. Where there is no product function yet, we can support discovery and help define the roles you will eventually want to hire.
