Applied research
Innovation and Research
We investigate emerging technology in order to apply it. Our research is practical, time-boxed and candid about what is ready for production and what is not.
01
Applied, not academic
Our research agenda follows the problems our work encounters: how to make AI agents dependable, how to reason over connected-device data, how to make digital-asset security usable, and how to modernize systems without stopping the business. We investigate to answer questions that affect real architecture decisions.
02
How we explore
Exploration follows a light but consistent method, so that results are comparable and conclusions are honest.
- 01
Frame the question
State what we want to learn, why it matters and what evidence would change a decision.
- 02
Prototype quickly
Build the smallest working system that can answer the question, using realistic data wherever possible.
- 03
Evaluate rigorously
Measure against agreed criteria (quality, latency, cost, security and operability) rather than impressions.
- 04
Recommend plainly
Conclude with a clear recommendation: adopt, adapt, keep watching or set aside.
03
Areas we are watching
We follow a set of technologies closely and evaluate them as they mature.
- 01
Agentic systems
Multi-agent orchestration, tool use, evaluation and governance for agents that act on enterprise systems.
- 02
Retrieval and knowledge
Retrieval-augmented generation, knowledge graphs and grounding techniques that keep AI tied to approved facts.
- 03
Edge and connected intelligence
Running inference closer to devices and machines, and combining telemetry with operational context.
- 04
Digital assets and cryptography
Threshold signatures, account abstraction and interoperability across chains.
- 05
Digital twins and simulation
Models of physical operations used to test changes before they are applied in the real world.
04
Honest about stage
Not every promising technology is ready for production, and we say so. When we present research, we label it clearly as a concept, prototype, pilot or production system, and we never present experiments as delivered results.
Clients get a candid view of maturity, risks and the conditions under which an approach is worth adopting.
