Intelligent Infrastructure and Connected Systems

Engineering the path from physical signal to operational decision.

Overview

Physical operations generate a constant stream of evidence: a compressor's vibration signature, a truck's fuel burn, a pump's discharge pressure, a cold-chain container drifting out of range. Much of that evidence never reaches the people who could act on it, because it is trapped in proprietary controllers, isolated historians and devices that were never designed to share.

iQsolutions engineers the connective layer between the physical and the digital. We work across field protocols such as MQTT, OPC UA, Modbus and CAN bus, through edge gateways and cloud IoT services, and into the time-series platforms, dashboards and models that support maintenance, dispatch and planning decisions.

Operational technology carries consequences that ordinary software does not, and our engagements are shaped by that fact. We segment OT from IT networks, default to read-only integration, design with ISA-95 and ISA/IEC 62443 concepts in mind, and treat plant engineers and safety owners as decision-makers rather than stakeholders informed after the fact.

In operational technology environments we work under the direction of the client's plant engineering, controls and safety teams. Any change that writes to control systems or equipment is made only with their documented review and approval.

Services in this discipline

What sets this discipline apart

  1. 01

    Protocol fluency

We work in the languages already installed in the field, from Modbus register maps and OPC UA information models to J1939 parameter groups and Sparkplug B payloads, so integration starts from what exists rather than from a rip-and-replace plan.

  2. 02

    Safety before speed

Read-mostly integration, segmented networks and explicit approval paths for any write-back. Operational continuity and personnel safety outrank feature velocity in every design decision we make.

  3. 03

    Deliberate edge-to-cloud architecture

We decide what runs at the edge and what runs in the cloud workload by workload, weighing latency, bandwidth, connectivity gaps, data residency and the real cost of moving raw telemetry.

  4. 04

    Decisions, not just data

Telemetry earns its keep when it changes an action. We design towards specific operational decisions, such as a maintenance window, a reroute or an inspection, and instrument the path from signal to response.

How engagements run

Connected systems assessment

A structured review of devices, protocols, networks, historians and data flows, producing an integration map, a risk register and a prioritised architecture recommendation that operations and IT can both endorse.

Bounded pilot

We instrument a single line, site, vehicle group or equipment class end to end, validating data quality, connectivity and usefulness to operators before anyone commits to a wider rollout.

Platform build and scale-out

A dedicated engineering team builds and hardens the production platform, covering device onboarding, pipelines, dashboards, alerting and analytics, then extends it across sites with documented runbooks and a planned handover to internal teams.
