Education and Learning Systems

Learning platforms that adapt to each learner and give educators clearer insight.

01 · The business problem

Educational institutions and corporate learning teams operate a crowded technology landscape. A university may run a learning management system, a student information system, video platforms, assessment tools and many specialized applications, each with its own login and data. Instructors devote substantial time to administrative tasks such as grading, content formatting and progress tracking, while learners navigate disconnected tools that make their path through a course or program harder to follow than it should be.

At the same time, expectations have shifted. Learners want flexible, mobile-friendly experiences and feedback that responds to their progress. Administrators need evidence of outcomes for accreditation and funding decisions. Generative AI has introduced both opportunity and concern: it can personalize support and reduce workload, but it also raises questions about academic integrity, privacy for minors and equitable access. Institutions need systems that apply AI thoughtfully rather than reactively.

02 · Proposed solution

iQsolutions engineers learning systems that connect content, learners, educators and institutional data through open standards. We build or extend platforms with adaptive pathways that respond to demonstrated mastery, AI-assisted tools that help educators create materials and give feedback, and analytics that show which learners need attention while there is still time to help.

Every capability operates within clear guardrails. Educators remain in control of assessment and grading decisions, AI tutoring works within approved content and policies, and student data is handled according to the privacy obligations of each institution. Integration through LTI, OneRoster and single sign-on means new tools strengthen the existing ecosystem rather than adding another silo.

03 · System components

Learning platforms, adaptive content and AI-assisted teaching tools engineered for schools, universities and corporate learning teams, integrated with the systems educators already use.

Education and Learning Systems
  1. 01

    Learning Experience Platform

Web and mobile experiences for courses, programs and credentials, designed for accessibility and low-bandwidth conditions, with consistent navigation across content from multiple sources and providers.

  2. 02

    Adaptive Pathway Engine

Rules and models that recommend next activities based on assessment results, engagement and competency frameworks, letting learners advance when ready and receive reinforcement where gaps appear.

  3. 03

    Educator AI Assistant

Tools that help instructors draft course materials, build question banks, align content to standards and prepare feedback, with every output reviewed and approved by the educator before learners see it.

  4. 04

    Learning Analytics

Dashboards for instructors, advisors and administrators showing progress, engagement and early warning signals, built on xAPI and institutional data with clear definitions and appropriate access controls.

  5. 05

    Integration and Identity Layer

Standards-based connections to student information systems, LMS platforms, content providers and identity services, keeping rosters, grades and enrollments synchronized across the ecosystem without manual exports or spreadsheet uploads.

04 · Engineering approach

Engineering approach

  1. 01

    Pedagogy leads technology

We work with instructional designers and educators to define learning goals and assessment strategies first, then engineer features that serve them rather than bending teaching to software constraints.

  2. 02

    Open standards by default

LTI, OneRoster, xAPI and QTI keep content and data portable. Institutions avoid lock-in and can combine tools from different vendors without custom integration work for each one.

  3. 03

    Responsible AI in learning

AI features are tightly scoped, tested for accuracy and bias, transparent to learners about when AI is involved, and configurable by each institution according to its academic integrity policies.

  4. 04

    Accessible to every learner

Interfaces are designed and tested against WCAG guidelines, with attention to assistive technologies, multiple languages, low-bandwidth connections and the shared or older devices learners actually use day to day.

05 · Integration landscape

  • LTI 1.3 learning tools
  • Canvas / Moodle / Blackboard / D2L Brightspace
  • OneRoster and Ed-Fi data standards
  • xAPI and Learning Record Stores
  • Student information systems (e.g., Ellucian Banner, PowerSchool)
  • Workday Learning / Cornerstone
  • Google Workspace for Education / Microsoft 365 Education
  • Zoom / Microsoft Teams
  • SAML and OpenID Connect SSO
  • QTI assessment content

06 · Security considerations

  • Student and employee learning data is handled in accordance with FERPA, COPPA, GDPR and the other privacy obligations that apply to each institution.
  • AI features process learner data only within approved environments and never use it to train external models without explicit institutional agreement.
  • Role-based access separates learners, instructors, advisors and administrators, with additional protections for minors and sensitive records.
  • Assessment integrity controls, including question randomization and secure delivery options, are configurable to institutional policy.
  • Integrations use scoped OAuth credentials and signed LTI launches to prevent unauthorized access to rosters and grades.

07 · Delivery phases

  1. 1

    Listen

Engage educators, learners and administrators to understand goals, workflows, existing systems and policy constraints.

  2. 2

    Design

Define learning experiences, data flows, AI guardrails and integration architecture with academic stakeholders.

  3. 3

    Build and pilot

Engineer platform features, adaptive logic and educator tools, piloting with a representative set of courses.

  4. 4

    Integrate

Connect SIS, LMS, identity and content systems, validating data accuracy and roster synchronization.

  5. 5

    Scale and refine

Expand to further programs, refine models from learning data and support educators through adoption.

08 · Business value

Business value

More time for teaching

AI-assisted content preparation and feedback reduce administrative workload, giving educators more capacity for mentoring, discussion and the parts of teaching that depend on human judgment, empathy and experience.

Timely learner support

Analytics and adaptive pathways help identify struggling learners earlier, so advisors and instructors can intervene while support can still change the outcome of a course or program.

A coherent learning ecosystem

Standards-based integration reduces separate logins, duplicate data entry and disconnected experiences, making the institution's technology easier for learners, educators and administrators to navigate and simpler for IT teams to maintain.

Responsible innovation

Clear guardrails let institutions adopt AI in ways that align with their academic values and privacy obligations, building trust among learners, families and faculty as new capabilities are introduced over time.
